31¢ Baskin Robbins scoops benefit fallen fire heroes

Ice cream lovers have an opportunity to indulge their sugar cravings while contributing to a worthy cause tonight at Newport-Mesa Baskin Robbins locations.

From 5 to 10 p.m. today, the ice cream shop will host 31¢ Scoop Night in honor of the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation, which pays tribute to fallen fire heroes while assisting their families and colleagues.

Baskin Robbins plans to donate $100,000 to the nonprofit, and community members will have the chance to contribute as well, while enjoying a bargain dessert.

Costa Mesa Baskin Robbins are located at 1460 Baker St. and 1927 Harbor Blvd. The Newport Beach store is at 1220 Bison Ave.
