OCTA looking for committee volunteer
The Orange County Transportation Authority is looking for volunteers for its Special Needs in Transit Advisory Committee.
Volunteers should be involved with disabled people and seniors and must be able to spend at least 25 hours a year in meetings and activities.
The unpaid position requires a three-year commitment. Applications will be accepted through Oct. 31. For more information, call (714) 560-5538, or go to www.octa.net.
John Wayne Airport passenger traffic down
John Wayne Airport announced this week that September’s passenger traffic decreased, compared with September 2005, despite commercial flight operations increasing.
Last month 748,989 passengers flew in or out of the airport. The year before the airport served 765,708, a decrease of 2.2%.
From September 2005, commercial flights increased about 1% and air taxi traffic increased 3%.
