Girls under 14
Costa Mesa Code Red 3, Costa Mesa Royalties 0: Code Red forward Sarah Bramlett scored the game’s first two goals, and Brooke Wanbaugh added a goal on a breakaway. Code Red defenders Jessica Oseguera, Sydney Caffey, Jenny Nava and Jillian Tanner played well, as did midfielders Jade Gonzales, Selina Grant and Adriana Gutierrez-Campos and goalies Tanner and Hayley Smith.
Costa Mesa Code Red 1, Newport Beach Paradise 1: Brooke Wanbaugh scored the first goal of the game for Code Red, despite chances from Amanda Wilson, Sarah Bramlett and Elizabeth Figueroa. Newport scored late in the game to salvage a tie.
Girls under 11
Costa Mesa 2, San Juan Capistrano 0: Costa Mesa goalies Jayme Krohnfeldt and Jessica Prather combined to record the shutout, which also featured strong defense from Marlene Calderon, Emily Gruber, Amy Heil and Jackie Tanner. Midfielders Jacqueline Hubbard, Emily Grady and Anna Vivanco were also impressive, as was forward Sophia Shambrook,
Costa Mesa 2, So. Irvine 1: Emily Grady tied the game, and Cristina Tuer also scored in the last five minutes of a come-from-behind win. Costa Mesa had stellar defensive play from Emily Gruber, Amy Heil and Claudia Huerta, and midfielders Jacqueline Hubbard, Anna Vivanco, Albamarie Barrios and Sophia Shambrook also played well.
Costa Mesa goalie Gracie Diamond saved a penalty kick in the first quarter.
Girls under 6
Purple Puppies, Firecrackers: Lilli Rask, Emily Hoffman, Allison O’Heany and Sofia Palma all scored goals for the Purple Puppies, while Kelsey Bond, Camryn Carter and Lexi Alvarez shined on the defensive end.

Girls under 14
Breakers 2, Team Green 0: The Breakers’ Bridget Lyons scored the goals in the last four minutes of the game.
Breakers midfielders Jordin Eakin, Madison Murphy, Audrey Bruscia and Sydney Groves also played well, as did Lauren Bartolic, Alex Chandler, Celina Boldt and Andie Ward.
Team Green was led by Laura Cavillo and Ani Harbottle.
Girls under 12 (APP)
Newport Breakers 6, Laguna Hills 1: Kelsey Long scored three goals for Newport. Katherine Maddox, Brinley Siemonsma and Delaney McCardle added goals. Assists went to Sarah Daley, Hanna Nance and Hannah Roman.

The Chilly Pepperz 3, Double Bubble 0: Kenya Avila, Berkley Van Oostendorp and Andrea Ocampo scored the goals for the Pepperz, while Jenna Jarvis, Sarah Whitney, Hailey Oberst and Taylor Chapin played excellent defense. Livvie Muscatello, Hailey King-Beacham, Rebekah Foster, Tiffany Curfman and Brenda Luna also all played well for the victors.
Boys under 12
Chargers 4, Tsunamis 0: Will Laidlaw and Max Gamboa scored the Chargers’ goals, with David Munoz, Charlie Pena, Sam Jones, Marcell De Barros and Mike Reo also providing the offense. Chargers goalie Trevor Conway pitched a shutout, helped defensively by Josh Ford, Seth Seidel, CJ Conlan, Peter Doyle and Ian MacInnis.
Girls under 10
Army Angels 2, Red Angels 1: Kierstyn Yardley scored the goal for the Red Angels, but the Army Angels rallied for the win. The Red Angels’ offensive players Lauren Bibb, Courtney Cunningham, Caylee Talbot and Kristin Watanabe all played well, as did defenders Grace Muenchow, Delaney Gastineau and Emma Griffiths. Goalies Hannah Tucker and Katie Conway also played strong for the Red Angels.
Wild Cherry Bombs 2, Pink Panthers 1: The Pink Panthers’ Kate Yasko scored the game’s first goal, assisted by solid passing from Hannah Doolin, Olivia Jones, Noelle Hubbard and Lauren Loucks. Defenders Emily Halphide, Julianna Eifler, Stephanie Navarro, Hannah Sanders and Elle Zielinski played good defense for the Panthers, and Eifler, Halphide and Olivia Jones did well at goalie. Marina Knutsen and Katya Farinsky also played well for the Pink Panthers.
Blue Army Angels 2, Red Angels 1: Kristen Kiehnle scored the game’s first goal for the Blue Army Angels, assisted by Chelsie Baker, and Hannah Joyce also scored in the win. Defenders Brooke Hinton, Sam Ludes, Natalie Torres and Marianna Debarros all played well for the Blue Army Angels, who were also helped by goalies Livia Yoho and Alexis Miller. Forwards Paige Fults, Peyton Groves, Claire Olmsted and Caroline Gels also played well.
Blue Angels 4, Taxi 4: Lacy Yonkers scored Taxi’s first two goals, and Alanna Rockwell also scored twice in the first half. Taxi’s defense of Jordan Blanchfield, Anna Hancock, Bailey Scalso and Josie Miller kept the Blue Angels scoreless, but Blue Angels goalie Emily Fay and defenders Daniella Carrese and Astrea Montgomery kept their team in the game.
Blue Angels midfielder Molly McCunniff scored before halftime, assisted by Giula Chlarson and Kyira Wicks, then Jordan Goldsberry scored three times in the second half as the Blue Angels rallied for the tie. Assists went to Olivia Sever and Lily Brandon, and Angels goalie Logan Grove also played well.
Teal Seals: Mallory Gyulay scored three goals and Megan Keys and Izzy Islava also scored, helping the Seals earn their first win. Defenders Emily Wolfe, Kappy Fuller and Emily Vaughan did well clearing the ball, and goalie Emily Peschong also stood out. Midfielders Mackenzie Paskerian, Madeline Bubb and Seneca Fuller showed good ball control, as did playmakers Amanda du Pont and Peyton Espley-Jones.
Boys under 10 (APP)
Newport-Mesa 3, N. Irvine 1: Midfielders Byron Gutierrez and Chaz Beek and forward Jehu Jogwe all scored for Newport-Mesa. Forwards Jack Binford and Carson Poivre also played well.
Newport-Mesa 1, Tustin 0: Defender Dominik Folkner helped keep the game scoreless early on, then Carson Poivre scored the game’s only goal near the end of the first half. Goalie Ryan Braun helped preserve the shutout, as did fullbacks Caleb O’Neil and Cash Swank.
Boys under 10
Fury 5, Stingrays 4: Fury forward Christian Watson scored the deciding goal with two minutes left, his third of the game. Also scoring for the Fury was Riley Brockman.
For the Stingrays, Luke Mueller scored twice, and Ryan Young and Julien Marchese added goals. Also playing well were midfielders Sargis Srapyan and Hunter White, defenders Alden Burke, Elijah Chavis, Quint and Zach McKay and goalie Holden Curran.
Water Bombs 3, Blue Hurricanes 3: Graydon Kimme scored twice for the Water Bombs and Micah Adelsohn also scored, with assists going to Sawyer Farmer and Adelsohn. Fullbacks Cody Wildman and Jax Wood led the Water Bombs’ defense, and David Esquibel played well at goalie.
Girls under 8
Green Waves, Rockers: Kylee Seeber and Sienna Ward both scored for the Green Waves, while Madeline Phillips had a great assist and was strong offensively. Sydney Slattery and Allison Hanscom played well on defense for the Waves, as did goalie Missy Taylor.
Red Hot Chili Peppers, Purple Skater Girls: Julie Doyle and Julia Ackerman each scored twice for the Peppers, while Alyssa Wilkens and Erika Ellis each just missed. Sienna Amoroso, Destry Comp, Laura Mackenzie, Heather Roberts and Ellis provided strong defense for the Peppers. Lauren Henke and Rayna Richardson did well pushing the ball upfield, and goalies Richardson, Wilkens and Henke all made nice saves.
