Costa Mesa Police arrested a 22-year-old Compton man in connection with August’s fatal drive-by shooting of a 23-year-old man.
Costa Mesa Police, with help from Hawthorne Police, arrested Joshua Anthony Blount, 22, Tuesday on suspicion of killing Israel Maciel on Aug. 2 in an alley in the 1300 block of West Baker Street, authorities said.
Four others were injured in the shooting.
Blount is on probation in Los Angeles County for a weapons violation, according to police. Authorities say Blount is a gang member, but they have no information yet to determine if the shooing was gang-related.
Blount is scheduled to be arraigned Thursday.
