THE LAST WORD:Super news for local band

Is it possible to root against a group claiming to be from the planet “Cynot3” and that plays songs about Oreo cookies and a “Star Wars” character?

No way.

So surely we all were super excited to learn that Costa Mesa punk band Supernova had settled its dispute with Mark Burnett Productions over the use of the name for the recent reality TV show “Rock Star: Supernova.”

Under the agreement, the CBS band can go by the name Rock Star Supernova. But no one is about to replace David Collins, Jodey Lawrence and Art Mitchell, who are — we all know — the real Supernova.

But a name by any other name would still play as loud, or something of that sort. Really, even better for the trio is that additional terms of the settlement were not disclosed.

Even someone from another planet knows that means money.

Here’s hoping Collins, Lawrence and Mitchell spend that dough on plenty of Oreos. And, hey, aren’t there new “Star Wars” DVDs out?
