    NIKE GET FIT GIRL

    Take part in a guided 3-mile walk or run. Men, women, children, walkers and runners are all welcome. Warm-up and stretching starts at 9 a.m.; the run and walk begins after that.     THE BRITISH ARE COMING

    POLICE VS. SECURITYThe Costa Mesa Police Department will take on South Coast Plaza Security in the First Annual Police vs. Security Softball Game at Carl Thornton Park in Santa Ana. The event, which includes a barbecue and opportunity drawing in addition to the nine-inning softball game, is free to the public and will raise funds for the Festival of Children Foundation.     PIONEER OPENINGPioneer, the electronics store specializing in home-entertainment products, will open its first U.S. store at South Coast Plaza this weekend. Chris Rose and John Salley, of “Best Damn Sports Show Period,” will be on hand from 2 to 4p.m. to greet fans, and shoppers will be able to sit and watch high-definition sports programming in one of eight locations set up within the store. Pioneer will also feature a slot machine made from plasma televisions, and guests will be able to try their luck at winning prizes that include Pioneer home theater systems. The Pioneer store is located on the lower level near Saks Fifth Avenue.

    BOOK SIGNING AT THE CANNERY

    BORICUA FEST 2006

    Boricua will be a full day of entertainment at the Orange County Fairgrounds with salsa dancing and salsa music, Mexican food and clothing for sale.     Orange Coast College’s Theatre Department will hold auditions for Larry’s Gelbart’s comedy “Sly Fox,” which will be the school’s first main stage production of the fall semester.     SUMMER AQUA CAMP

    Downtown Recreation Aquatics Center, 1860 Anaheim Ave., Costa Mesa. The City of Costa Mesa Recreation Division will offer a week-long aquatic experience in a camp environment for children ages 6 to 14 that promotes water safety and enjoyment. The cost is $26 for residents, $31 for nonresidents. All classes are subject to a meet-a-minimum enrollment requirement. Only walk-in registrations are accepted.
