A pregnant woman shot in the leg early Saturday in Costa Mesa was probably not the intended target of the shooting, police said. The incident happened at 12:35 a.m. in the 2200 block of Pamela Lane. A white car pulled up and a man got out and shot at an apartment building where the woman was standing by the window, Costa Mesa Police Lt. Loren Wyrick said.
The bullet passed through the building wall and hit the leg of the woman, who is seven months pregnant. She was transported to Western Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries, and no trauma to the child was reported, Wyrick said.
Anyone with information on the shooting should call (714)754-5383.
