Eight charged in man’s slaying

Eight people have been charged in connection with the slaying of a Costa Mesa man who was found dead in front of a nursery school in the city of Orange nearly one month ago, officials said.

The Orange County District Attorney’s office charged three alleged gang members with killing 26-year-old Raffi Yessayan in an apparent robbery June 7. Five additional people have been charged with accessory to murder after the fact.

Yessayan’s body was discovered at 6:15 a.m. in front of the nursery school in the 900 block of West Lincoln Avenue, near the Santa Ana River Channel in Orange, police said.

Orange Police are not releasing any information about the details of Yessayan’s death and would not comment on whether Yessayan was himself affiliated with a gang.

Marco Antonio Charcas-Fernandez, 21, Aurelio Fidencio Saldivar Jr, 27, and Ruben Alejandro Oliveros, 25, are each charged with committing murder and robbery for the advancement of a street gang of which all three are members, according to a complaint filed by the Orange County District Attorney’s office.

Anthony Raleigh Chargualaf, 44, Jose Ramirez Muniz, 38, Danny Salas Oliveros, 42, Michelle Mari Asai, 26, and Victor Alphonse Enciso Jr., 30, are also charged with accessory to murder after the fact. The five allegedly knew about the killing and helped to conceal it from authorities, according to the district attorney’s office.

Charcas-Fernandes, Saldivar, Ruben Alejandro Oliveros, Chargualaf, Muniz, and Enciso are scheduled to be arraigned in Orange County Superior Court in Santa Ana July 14. Danny Salas Oliveros and Asai are not yet scheduled for arraignment.
