Mall hosts food and wine festival

Summertime foods, great wines and a spirit of charity are the focus for Thursday night at South Coast Plaza.

The 14th annual Summer Food & Wine Festival, complete with opportunity drawings and live music, will take place from 6 to 9 p.m. in the South Coast Plaza Crate and Barrel and Macy’s Home Store wing.

The evening will feature culinary selections from more than 25 South Coast Plaza restaurants, wineries and breweries. Entertainment will be provided by the party band Ho-Dads, ? which will be playing classic beach party music.

Every dollar generated from ticket sales, opportunity drawings and corporate sponsorships benefits the Second Harvest Food Bank of Orange and the Someone Cares Soup Kitchen of Costa Mesa.

Winners of the opportunity drawing will have three prizes to choose from: dinner for two every month for a year at 12 South Coast Plaza restaurants; the Spa & Fitness Club’s signature facial, massage, manicure and pedicure; or a $250 South Coast Plaza gift certificate.

Tickets to the event are $55 per person and can be purchased at the door. Opportunity drawing tickets can be purchased at the event for $5 each, five for $20 or thirty for $100.
