Marine families thank Newport

The Key Volunteer Wives of the 1st Battalion, 1st Marines at Camp Pendleton and the families would like to thank everyone in Newport Beach for their generous support of our Marine families.

Donations have come from local businesses including Spa Georgio, Marriott Hotels, Duffy Boats, Bistango, Bayside and Spaghetti Bender restaurants and from individuals such as Louis Perino of Jersey City, N.J.

The Arches restaurant patrons raised $3,250 during the Gib’s Favorite Lunch Week. Customers had a chance to remember the late Gib Fernandez, longtime Arches maitre d’ and friend to so many Orange County residents, by ordering his favorite dish. The money was used to purchase gift cards that were sent to the Key Volunteers, and we in turn distributed them to our Marine families.

Our generous community always pleasantly surprises us when it comes to helping Marines and their families.
