Police seek Spanish-speaking volunteers
The Huntington Beach Police Department is looking for volunteers, especially those who speak Spanish, this month’s Neighborhood Watch Newsletter reported.
Volunteers are needed at the police department’s substation at the intersection of Beach Boulevard and Slater Avenue. The substation is located in a predominately Spanish-speaking neighborhood.
Volunteer duties include answering basic questions, providing directions and otherwise assisting residents. Hours are flexible and training will be provided.
The substation serves as a location where officers can write reports, conduct follow-up investigations and interact with the public. The office is usually staffed by volunteers during the day and evening.
If you are interested in volunteering, contact Sgt. Gary Faust, (714) 608-6032.
