a close competition to Dana Hills, 86-82, Tuesday morning. This

with the total margin of loss being a mere 15 points. The surfing
conditions at Salt Creek were terrific, with continuous sets of
overhead waves under warm sunny skies.

sweeping all four heats and outscoring Dana, 47-37. Short boarder
Bryan Doheny’s 31.5 points secured first place, with Chase Wilson
taking third place in heat one. Newport narrowly won the next two
boys short board heats led by Stevie Farmer’s high point total of
36.5 and an individual high wave score of 8.5, which placed him first
in heat three.
Bret Catron placed second and Christian Morabito and Tyler Tarlow
took third in heats two and three. The Tar short board team won the
last heat led by last year’s South Coast individual league champion
Daniel Shea placing first while Reagan Riley took second place.

Dana squad, 12-9. Chase Smith remained undefeated as he took first
place for the second week in a row. Tanner Prairie placed third for
the 2-0 long board squad.
The body board team dropped its record to 1-1, losing 14-7. Matt
Kretschmar placed third in the event.
