Baldwin Hills Bruins 32, Newport Mesa Silver Seahawks 14: Quest
Truxton completed passes to wide receivers Matt McKinnon, Adam
Freeman, Sage Fleming and Cole Collins in the second quarter.
Fullback Brody Richter and ran behind the line of William Somekh,
Teddy Somekh, Kobe Benter, and Brandon Hauser for a 40 yard score.
Defensively, linemen Brian Leguay Chad Sheldon, Trevor Branca and
Dominic Komadina and linebackers and defensive backs: Colton Benter,
Alex Fuller, Will Eury, Jacob Fisher, Isaiah Davis and Cole Collins
sewed up the defensive line. Next up the Silver Seahawks play a road
game Saturday at South County at noon.
Clinic
Seahawks 26, Garden Grove 7:
The Seahawks controlled the Falcons on both sides of the ball
Saturday in Garden Grove. The defense of JP Pilz, Taro Doone, Levi
Stillman and Jeff Carlyle each made tackles for losses. Tate Smith
and Ian Landt had fumble recoveries. Ellery Sever, Nick Blanda, Clay
Woodward and Colin Duffy played well to anchor the Seahawk defense.
Quarterback Chase Forrest threw two touchdowns. Stillman, and Kurt
Walde caught each caught a touchdown. Adrain Marin caught an 8-yard
pass for the scoring conversion. Fullback Colby Koste rounded out the
scoring with a conversion, and had 30 yards on the ground. Chris
Johnstone, Dylan Rand-Luby, Kyle Benter and Cas Orr all contributed
to the rushing attack. The offensive line of Brady Morgan, Max Carr,
Duffy, Nick Smith, Kevin Manchester, Doone, and Mark Manchester
ignited the offense. The Seahawks play Bellflower Saturday on the
road.
Jr. Clinic
Blue Seahawks 13, South Gate Rams 6: The Blue Seahawks defenders
were the stars of the game Saturday. Keaton Cablay, Steven Cureton,
Chase Davis, Charlie Padden, Anthony Batista, Blake Olinger and
Keisean South anchored the defense backfield. The defensive lineman:
Marcus Champion, William Bright, Hampton Irwin, Jameson Smith and
Sina Sadri held the Rams until late in the second quarter. Grant
Nutt, Griffin Cribbs, Dane Valdivia, Garrett Godber and Batista
stopped the hard charging Rams.
Quarterback Chase Davis, running backs Keaton Cablay, Anthony
Batista and Steven Cureton gained significant yardage behind the
blocking of Hampton Irwin, Thomas Winkle, Sam Woodward, Nicholas
Sperr, Nicholas Guizan and Curtis McMackin. The Seahawks face the
Woodcrest Generals this Saturday.

Girls under 12
Bad News Butterflies 5, Dolphins 0: Katie Ayala, Maddie Grant and
Nicole Perrier all connected on goals early. On defense, Maddie
Erdossy, Kelsey Pearson, Jamie Darling, Megan Farley and Taylor
Morgan kept the ball out of the goal. Karli Leal had a great save as
goalkeeper in the first half. Then she scored the fourth goal in the
third quarter. Page Keys had an assist to Katie Gaiton for the final
goal. Kelly Torres, Kendall Walker and Sara Hamilton made several
great plays for the victory.
Bad News Butterflies 2, Queen Bees 1: Page Keys made an assist to
Katie Ayala for the first goal. Kelsey Person, Taylor Morgan, Maddie
Grant, Kelly Torres and Nicole Perrier sparked the offensive
attackfor the Butterflies. Karli Leal’s goal came on a penalty kick
in the second half. Megan Farley, Jamie Darling and Mattie Erdossy
shined on defense. Christine Lugo, Kendall Walker, Katie Gaitan and
Sara Hamilton’s passing and dribbling assisted the Butterflies in
their win.
Girls under 10
Banana Splits 1, Bulldogs 0: Kate Yasko scored a goal with an
assist by Nikki Leal. Goalkeepers Britney Myers and Kristen Kiehnle
shut out the Bulldogs. Katya Farinsky, Ryan Sweeney and Natalie Teale
provided Solid defense. Isabel Leveque, Kennedy Erdossy, Madison
Mines and Dakota Mitchell controlled the midfield supporting both
offense and defense.
Crazy Eights 5, Blue Lightning 1: Goalkeepers Kellie Melendres and
Alex Vaszquez held the Lightning to only one goal. Analysa Vivanco
and Reo Nathan scored two goals for the Eights. Julia Frei and Riley
Rickman played aggressively at midfield. Mackenzie Gaddis broke away
for the final goal. Jessica Ochoa, Jenna Jarvis and Rachel Whitelegge
provided great defense.
Purple People Eaters 3, Surfer Girls 1: Goals by Molly Manser,
Makayla Swies and Mallory Gyulay lifted the Purple People Eaters.
Great defense by Breyanna Komadina-Ripke and Gyulay kept the Surfer
Girls out of the goal area most of the game.
Cotton Candy Crew 5, Dominators 0: On offense, Kenya Avilia and
Natalie Ward each scored two goals. Avilia started the scoring on an
assist from Nadine Lefler in the first quarter. Cassidy Davis’s pass
to Ward added one more goal. Defensively, goalkeeper Taylor
Kalatschan and defenders Evelyn Stephans and Erin Barth played well.
Midfielder Matilda Higman scored the final goal for the Crew.
Boys under 10
Newport Mesa Mavericks 4, Corona del Mar 2: Montgomery Faigan
scored three goals for the Mavericks. Faigan scored his first with an
assist from Baron Davis in the first quarter. Jack Binford took two
breakaways the full length of the field.
The defense led by goalkeeper Ryan Braun and fullbacks Nick Roman,
Landon Knight, Caleb O’Neil and Jake Parks kept the CdM team bottled.
Cash Swank turned a quick steal into a goal in the third quarter.
Fullbacks Peter Seidner, Ian Batstone and Dominic Folkner all played
aggressive defense.
Tigers 6: Buccaneers 1: Goals were scored by Luke Mueller, Jehu
Jogwe and Max Gamboa . Parker Young, Sawyer Farmer and Daniel Pham.
John Redoutey and Cole Chambers all made assists. TJ Tarazevits,
Jonathan Jenkins and Austin Lemoine led on defense. Duke Walker and
Luke Mueller protected the net.
Boys under 8
Blue Crew, Red Tide: Jack Rapillo scored twice and Andrew English
scored another to lead the Crew offense. Matt Lightner and Dante
Amodeo played strong midfield. Jeremiah Sheldon stayed back on
defense and stopped many scoring opportunities. Morgan Lunsford and
Alex Lobel added support with timely plays.
Predators, Blue Dragons: Dillon Murphy scored his first hat-trick
of the season for the Predators. Alex Forman continued his streak of
scoring in every game. Dominic Ripke and Shane McCallum tackled well
in midfield. The Blue Dragons scored when Collin Pipkin scored from
outside the penalty area.
Predators, Red Reptiles: Dillon Murphy led the Predators with two
goals. Cole O’Neil and Shane Mitchell both scored goals after runs.
Alex Forman, Avery Rowe and Blake Vander Veer worked tirelessly in
midfield. RJ Reid, Alden Burke and Davis Clement anchored the
Predator defense.
Girls under 7
Butterfly Pumpkins, Cheetahs: Kendall Machado, Elizabeth Wilson
and Heather Roberts all scored in the game. Olivia Burg made an
assist on the final score. Alyssa Wilkens, Caroline Wilkes and Saylor
Nepelman assisted the offensive with many scoring opportunities.
Defensively, Zoe Conley, Hanna Mitchell and Nicole Sanchez all made
many steals for the Pumpkins.
Blue Angels, Purple Shooting Stars: Riley De Castroverde put in
two goals for the Angels. Destry Comp scored the third Angel goal.
Sienaa Amorosso and Rayna Richardson moved the ball forward all day
for the Angels. Paula Pedrani and Carol Noeggerath played strong
defense, Jenna Eakin and Lauren Henke fought hard in the middle. Comp
also played well in goal.
Ladybugs, Pink Tulips: Kelly Sandberg, Rebecca Szulga and Holly
Halperin each played goalkeeper. On offense, Alex Henderson and
Mackenzie Mowery scored goals. Vale Lewis, Caroline Batcheller and
Katie Robinson played very hard on both offense and defense.
Boys under 7
Black Widows, Red Bullets: Spencer Amorde, Ronan Ferrentino and
Colin Avary showed great ball handling skills. Roger Boehringer,
Teddy Cameron and Andrew Potter made many successful passes. Near the
end of the game, Kevin Garcia scored for the Black Widows.
Black Widows, Red Dragons: John Sheppard made many good runs, but
could not score. Spencer Amorde, Colin Avary and Ronan Ferrentino
added many long kicks. Kevin Garcia, Roger Boehringer, Teddy Cameron
and Andrew Potter helped their teammates by playing strong defense.
Girls under 6
Fairytales, Cheetahs: Breanna Contreras, Eva Nadeau, Kayla
Brockman and Camille Baron allscored a goal apiece. Meanwhile,
Rochelle Trujillo added several goals. Hannah Darrow and Jordan
Golden excelled on defense.
Boys under 6
Goblins: Jake Thomas led the Goblins with four goals. Gates
Johnson added two goals while Cole McFetters, Vincent Rubino, and
Josh Gehlke each scored one goal apiece. Tommy Manley and Seth
Roberts led a Goblin defense.
Green Bulldogs, Dragons: Ian McKasson kicked three goals for the
Green Bulldogs. In addition, Jack Brennan, Joe Skinner, Ben Zehnder
and Billy Shannon goals. Sam Lohr and Cameron Hanson played
outstanding defense.
Lava Rocks, Killer Blue Rays: Tanner Shallahamer of the Lava Rocks
scored three goals, and Scott Ryder added two goals. Rays goalkeepers
Race Mooers and Jacob Fleener stopped Marcus Croxson and Dillon
Lippman. Cole Schneider and Dean Carden played great defense. Blue
Rays players Ian Hanson, John Olmstead and Anthony Rath all scored
goals with assists from Nathan Horgan and Nicholas Nataupsky.
Star Warriors, Golden Scorpions: Jack Pitchess, John Rankin, Cade
Kasouf, Jake Bashore, Lucas Mowery and AJ Stefano all contributed
goals. Chris Gruber and Julian Hernandez played awesome defense.
Boys under 5
Green Goblins, Mighty Gators: Lucas Baia scored an impressive Four
goals. Bennett Ward managed to get in two. Both goal scorers were
assisted by Dane Boehringer and Dylan White.
Green Goblins, Yellow Bandits: Bennett Ward led the team with an
amazing eight goals. Dylan White of the Goblins scored three
consecutive goals. In addition, Lucas Baia followed with a
respectable four goals. Dane Boehringer added assists in the victory.
Coast Soccer League
Girls under 10
Irvine Lasers 1, So Cal Blues 0: Maddy Glaser scored the sole
Laser goal. Goalkeepers Tara Terpening and Grayson Galbraith made
many saves and combined for the shutout. The defense of Janna
Purcell, Francesca Ricapito, Samantha Sandzimier and Courtney Lang
shut out the Blues on offense.
Boys under 9
Irvine Lasers 4, Tustin Premier FC 0: Robert Knights scored three
times in the match. Brett Blackburn added two assists on Knights’
goals. Gregorio Nicanor scored the final goal. Giovanni Gaz, Eric
Georgevich, Itsuki Iimura, Jonathan Klinsmann, Carter Kruse, Reed
Watson and goalkeeper Marshall Fern all played well.

Girls under 16
Corona del Mar 7, Tustin 0: Erica Pennenuri and Cecily Lewis each
scored 2 goals. Rebecca Beyer, Vivian Lopez and Julie Kramer scored
the balance. Hanna Anderson, Taylor Rhodes and Ariana Condon excelled
on defense. Angie Seagreen handled goalkeeping duties.
Girls under 14
Flaming Pepperoni 6, Dubble Bubble 3: Katelyn Baker, Natalie
Rempalski and Molly Vorwerck each scored two goals. Courtney Davison,
Victoria Burkhead and Amy Arnesen were strong at goalkeeper. Reede
Dahlfors, Blair Camarillo, Molly Larkins, Kaela Schreck and Leyla
Hezar delivered powerful performances on defense.
Girls under 8
Tigers, Screaming Eagles: The Tigers’ scoring was led by Alyssa
Anderson, Paige Nelson and Mackenzie Morsey. Makena Martin, Tia
DiGiovanni and Abigail Klein made strong plays for the Tigers.
Goalkeepers Madeleine Francis and Lauren Kobayashi made multiple
saves.
Girls under 6
Peach Puppies, Green Gators: Rachel Davis, Kendall Fryer, Caroline
Taketa, Sabrina DiGiovanni and Kelly Kobayashi all scored goals for
the Puppies Isabella Rhee, Sophie Habibion, and Stephanie Beder added
assists in the match.

Girls under 14
Costa Mesa 5, Newport Beach Double Bubble 0: Kelsey Asher scored
twice. Teeny Cathey added a goal and an a assist.Brittany Grimmett
added a goal in the fourth quarter. Rashel Mohammed, Alexa Smith and
Gabey Suarez contributed shots on goal. Goalkeeper Bailey Henderson
was outstanding defensively. Mariella Solorio, and Yazmin Lopez also
prevented many shots on defense. Bree LaBare and Karina Pasillas
played hard controlling the midfield.
Boys under 12
Golden Bullets 3, Dominators 1: Adrian Ferrara, Eric Reeker and
Carlos Vallejos each scored for the Bullets.
Girls under 10
Scorpions 4, California Girls 3: Daniella Amador scored the first
goal for the Scorpions, and Amy Heil scores the second assisted by
Mary Garza. Claudia Huerta scored the third goal.
Late in the first half, California Girl McKenna Patton made her
teams first goal. Judith Gonzalez steals the ball late and makes an
assist to Dominique Beltran, who scores the winning goal.
Red Devils 2, Scorpions 1: Scorpion Dominique Beltran scored the
first goal of the game. Jordan Page and Haley Wyatt team up a strong
defense and help Olivia LaValley make saves. Red Devil Jessie Prather
scored the winning goal for her team.
Girls under 8
Dragonflies, Pink Crystals:
Ashley Vasquez and Chloe Kunst scored goals for the Dragonflies.
The two goals were assisted by Sonia Nieto and Ashleigh Sundquist.
Goalkeepers Taylor Sundquist and Helen Brigham played well in the
net, and Emily Vasquez and April James ran the defensively.
Girls under 6
Team Mighty, Blue Hula Girls:
Katherine Ayala and Sierra Dixon scoring multiple goals for Team
Mighty. Sarah Bordelon, Letzy Gallardo, Annie Mitchell and Sophie
Beazley all played strong defense, preventing a score from their
opponents.
Girls under 5
Purple Petunias, Princesses: Lilli Rask, Allison O’heany and Sofia
Palma led the offense. Katie Walburger, and Alexis Lemus all had
stellar defensive performances.
BASEBALL
* The Newport Beach Little League is opening registration for the
spring 2006 season.
Returning players may register online at
https://www.newportbeachll.com. New players must register in person on
Saturday, Oct. 29, between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m., at Lincoln Elementary
School. at 3101 W. Pacific Coast Dr., Corona del Mar. Tryouts are
scheduled for the weekend of Jan. 14-15.
* Costa Mesa National Little League is now registering for the
2006 season. Returning players should have received their forms in
the mail.
