Arbitech stands alone

Arbitech won its seventh-straight game and thus became the lone
undefeated team in the city of Laguna Beach Community Services Dept.
summer 16” slow pitch softball program by defeating Compound
Fractures, 13-8, at Riddle Field.
The victory gave Arbitech a 2 1/2 game lead over the Hotwings
with three games remaining on the Thursday League regular season
schedule.
Arbitech’s offense pounded out 14 hits, led by the four for four
batting of Ted Lycuriew who hit a grand slam and singled three times.
Manuel Sanchez delivered a pair of home runs which accounted for
five RBI and Ryan Neptune pounded two home runs and drove in three
runs for Arbitech.
William Maniaci hit a home run and singled for Compound Fractures.
In other Thursday League action:
Hotwings 12, Team Hobie 3 Hotwings picked up its second straight win to stay in the hunt for
the Thursday League title.
A 19-hit attack was led by Aaron Talarico who hit a home run and
three doubles, Trigg Garner with a home run, double and single, and
Paul Wolsey who tripled and singled twice.
Mark Christy hit a home run and singled to lead Team Hobie.
In Wednesday League action:
Mesa Verde Partners 10, O’ Leary’s Tanks 2
Danny Lane’s two-run home run broke a 2-2 third inning tie as Mesa
Verde Partners, last year’s Wednesday League champion, handed the
Tanks their first loss after six victories.
Lane finished the night four for four, which also included a solo
home run.
Dave Meggison added a pair of two-run home runs to the cause.
Canobhit 14, Red Morocco 13
Bill Dolby delivered a game-changing RBI single in the sixth
inning to lift Canobhit to victory.
Earlier in the game, Dolby hit a home run.
Matt Broderick, Al Krist and Garret Turk hit home runs for Red
Morocco.
Hennessey’s Young Guns 10, Beach and Team 7
Keith Mulvaney hit a home run and finished with two RBI and Emilio
Bernal doubled with two RBI to lead the Young Guns to another
Wednesday League win.
In Tuesday League action:
Team Viagra 6, Sandpiper 3
Nate Pivaroff limited Sandpiper to just seven singles as Team
Viagra won its third straight to open up a two-game lead on the
competition in Tuesday League play.
Pivaroff also figured prominently in the Team Viagra offense with
a pair of solo home runs.
Jerod Morror hit a solo home run and had an RBI single for Team
Viagra.
David Sommerville had three singled and Mica Brown singled twice
for Sandpiper.
In Monday League action:
Courtesy Auto Body 4, Rotary 3
Emilio Bernal hit a two-run home run in the top of the seventh
inning to give Courtesy Auto Body the triumph.
The win left Courtesy Auto Body in a share for the league lead
with the Puiswatrkylegs and dropped Rotary from a share of that lead.
Bernal also singled twice and teammate Bob Armstrong hit a first
inning, two-run home run.
Rotary had broken a 2-2 tie in the bottom of the sixth when Tory
Thomas came up with an RBI single.
David Zogg homered and singled for Rotary.
Puswatrkylegs 10, Pancakes 4
Puswatrkylegs won its fourth straight game by avenging an earlier,
5-3 loss to the Pancakes.
John Reynard drove in four runs behind two home runs and Jesse
Westgaad tossed as seven-hitter, all singles save for a double by
Steve Michel.
