Easter egg hunt offered at Fairview Park
Enjoy the scenery at Fairview Park while the kids hunt for
environmentally friendly “eggs” on Saturday. The Fairview Friends
Committee will host guided tours of the park as well as an egg hunt
for children, ages 2 to 12, with prizes for the most eggs collected.
After the hunt, children can ride the Orange County Model
Engineers’ train.
The tour, led by Costa Mesa’s administrator of the Fairview Park
plan, Robert Staples, will begin at 10 a.m. at the south end of the
Placentia Avenue parking lot. For more information call (714)
754-5688 or visit https://www.cmfairviewpark.org.
When disaster strikes, radio operators pitch in
If you have a two-way radio, you can be a part of a new network of
residents that could help the city in a disaster.
Radio operators can participate in the Neighborhood Radio
Communication Network, which practices transmitting and receiving
messages every Sunday on FRS or FRG/GMRS band two-way radios and
two-meter amateur radios.
For instructions, amateur radio operators can check in on
frequency 146.580 at 7:25 p.m., and FRS operators should tune in on
FRS channel 4 at 7:30 p.m. on Sunday nights. A Spanish language net
is also being developed.
For more information, send an e-mail to [email protected] or
call Diane Hill at (714)546-4252.
