Community Concert Band to perform
The Laguna Community Concert Band, conducted by Dr. Bill Nicholls
and Ed Peterson, will present a free holiday concert at 3 p.m. Dec.
12 in the Artists’ Theatre.
Traditional favorites will be played along with the classics
including Bach’s “Jesus, Joy of Man’s Desiring,” “The Bells of
Christmas” narrated by Screen Actors’ Guild star Lona Ingwerson and
solos by professional singer, Linda Hughes.
Sophia Tupy, a 12-year-old Thurston student, will sing “The
Christmas Song,” the SwingSet will play jazz versions of holiday
songs and Pat Kollenda’s “Hooked On Harmony” will entertain with
three songs in festive holiday glitter. The showcase trombone group,
“Laguna Bones,” will perform “Trombones On The Housetop.”
The free concert will conclude with “Feliz Navidad,” “Happy
Chanukah,” and a “Christmas Pop Singalong” led by “Hooked On Harmony”
and Pat Kollenda.
The band invites everyone to come and ring in the season with this
