BOO BLAST
The El Morro Elementary School Boo Blast Carnival will feature
rides, games and food for children, along with a “Haunted Beach”

‘CONSTANT STAR’
Five actresses will portray Ida B. Wells, a journalist and civil
rights activist who organized the first anti-lynching campaign in the
United States. The performance will feature 20 songs sung A Capella

FRIDAY
CHILDREN’S HOLIDAY PALETTE EXHIBITION
The deadline for submission for the city of Laguna Beach
Children’s Holiday Palette Exhibition is Nov. 5. The exhibition, made
possible with support from Laguna Outreach Community Arts, is a
project of the Arts Commission that allows children, ages 5 to 17, to
create original artwork. All appropriate submitted artwork will be on
display at City Hall during the holiday season. In addition, several
paper palettes will be chosen for mounting onto wooden palettes and
they will be displayed throughout December at City Hall in a special
exhibition. Laguna Beach children, ages 5 to 17, can submit a palette
design on 8 1/2 x 11” paper, in color, within the palette outline.
The outline is available online at www.lagunabeachcity.net. The
palette indent must also be included as a part of the design. The
artist’s signature, age, and date should be placed on the front left
hand side. There are no restrictions on the subject matter. However,
religious symbols are discouraged. Designs will be selected from the
following age groups: Ages 5 to 8, 9 to 13 and 14 to 17. Entries must be received by 5 p.m. at the Cultural Arts Department. Information:

Mural Installation
The city of Laguna Beach Arts Commission will invite the public to
work with Laguna Beach artist Gerard Basil Stripling for the mural
installation at Lang Park Community Center. Titled “Mementos,” the
murals will be created of items donated by the community. The
community is invited to participate from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the
Lang Park Community Center, 21540 Wesley Drive. The event is free and
participants can sign up through the recreation brochure or with the
Arts Commission by mail, at the Saturday Farmers Market and on the
day of the event. No experience is necessary, and the minimum age
