Eagles find new coach

Gannon Burks has been hired as the Estancia High boys varsity soccer
coach. Burks will continue to teach at Rea Elementary School in Costa
Mesa, where he has been for the past seven years.
Burks has been coaching the Rea fifth- and sixth-grade team for
the past six years and has won the Daily Pilot Cup for that age group
the past four years.
“I’ve gotten a chance to coach some of these kids when they were
younger,” Burks said. “Estancia should be challenging for the Golden
West [League] title every year. They have a lot of potential.”
Burks takes over for Steve Crenshaw, who resigned Sept. 21 after
six years as head coach.
