Supervision required for football game

The Laguna Beach High athletic department is reminding parents

that supervision will be needed for all middle school age children

and younger for Laguna Beach’s Oct. 22 home game against Tesoro.

Laguna Beach will celebrate homecoming that night.

Game time is 7 p.m.

Students coming to the stadium gate without adult supervision will

not be admitted inside.

In addition, there will be no admittance to the game after the

third quarter.

Boys’ basketball league set to return

Registration for kindergarten through eighth grade is now in

progress for the Boys’ Basketball League at the Boys and Girls Club

of Laguna Beach.

Practices begin in November and the regular season starts in

December, following the completion of the current AYSO soccer season.

All participants must be members of the Boys and Girls Club of

Laguna Beach. Membership fee is $125 per year. League fee is $75 per

player.

Registration being taken for league

The Boys and Girls Club of Laguna Beach is opening a new adult

basketball league, and team registration is in progress.

The inaugural league is limited to five teams and team captains

must register their team in person.

An entry fee of $450 plus $50 refundable forfeit fee per team is

required. Fees cover two referees and a scorekeeper provided for each

game. Teams must provide their own matching jerseys.

All games will be played each Wednesday, beginning at 7:30 p.m.,

at the club’s renovated gymnasium located at 1085 Laguna Canyon Road.

The season consists of eight regular season games and a single

elimination playoff tournament.

League highlights include an all-star team and a three-point

shooting contest.

Trophies for the first- and second-place teams will be provided by

the Boys and Girls Club.
