MODERN MASTERPIECES
Martin Lawrence Galleries at Fashion Island will host a Modern
Masters show on Saturday from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Each year they present
this incredible show that features some of the finest hand-signed
lithographs, etchings, linocuts and original art. Original pieces
featured in the show include: Marc Chagall’s 1979 oil on canvas, “Le
Saltimbanque et le Clown” (The Acrobat and the Clown); Renoir’s 1910
pastel on paper, “Femme jouant le Tambourin” (Woman playing a
Tambourine); and Miro’s 1970-72 mixed media on paper “Untitled,
1970-1972.” Martin Lawrence Galleries even offers rare, hand-signed
etchings by Pablo Picasso from his famed 1930s “Vollard Suite” and
1968’s “347 Suite” as well as his rare color linocuts. Also available
are hand-signed color lithographs from Chagall’s 1967 “Circus Suite”
-- considered by some historians to be Chagall’s finest lithograph.
Call the gallery at (949) 759-0134 to RSVP with an art consultant or
to arrange a private showing.
SOUTH SEA JEWELRY
Mikimoto at South Coast Plaza now carries the Ocean Collection, a
beautiful new line featuring necklaces, earrings and rings made with
white South Sea cultured pearls, Akoya pearls, graduated blue
sapphires and 18-karat white gold. Mikimoto has offered the highest
quality cultured pearls and jewelry since 1893. That’s when its
founder, Kokichi Mikimoto, developed the first cultured pearl. Before
Mikimoto, pearls were extremely rare as natural pearls occurred in
only a few oysters. Today, the world’s premier cultured pearl company
designs beautiful jewelry collections. Its fine jewelry and home
accessories start at $95. Striking collections include Pearls in
Motion, a timeless design of Japanese Akoya and Tahitian cultured
pearls that glide along an 18-karat white gold chain ($1,250 to
$19,000); and Milano, a contemporary line handmade in Italy, made
from Mikimoto South Sea and Japanese Akoya pearls ($480 to $34,000).

9 p.m. Monday to Friday; 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday; and 11 a.m. to
