County hosting free housing workshops
The Fair Housing Council of Orange County has announced a series
of landlord/tenant workshops will be held weekly. The free one-hour
workshops for tenants will discuss issues including security
deposits, necessary repairs and retaliation problems and 3-day,
30-day and 60-day notices from landlords.
Workshops will be presented in English, Spanish and Vietnamese at
the council office at 201 S. Broadway in Santa Ana. For information

Free lecture on genetic advances at UCI
Victor A. McKusick, professor of medical genetics at the Johns
Hopkins School of Medicine, will present a lecture titled “The Past,
Present and Future of Medical Genetics as a Clinical Subspecialty,”
at 7 p.m. on Feb. 17 in the Crystal Cove Auditorium at UC Irvine.
McKusick will discuss the scientific and technological advances of
the last 50 years that allow for the diagnosis, prevention and
management of genetic disorders. The lecture is part of the UCI
College of Medicine’s Genetics Lecture Series, an annual program
sponsored by the Irvine Health Foundation.
