Gusting winds prompted the National Weather Service to issue a small
craft advisory on Thursday.
No major problems were reported on local waters, said Sgt. Donna
Soto of the Orange County Sheriff’s Harbor Patrol in Newport Beach.
John Wayne Airport reported wind speeds of 15 mph from the
northeast with gusts to 30 mph Thursday afternoon. Wind speeds are
expected to lessen today.
Orange County coastal waters had wind waves from 2 to 4 feet
Thursday, according to the National Weather Service. A west swell
from 4 to 6 feet at 15 seconds was reported.
Today should be sunny with highs from 66 to 71 degrees and
northeast winds from 15 to 25 mph, becoming lighter and out of the
southwest in the afternoon.
Friday will have 2-foot wind waves and a west swell from 4 to 6
feet at 14 seconds.
Saturday will be mostly cloudy with a 30% chance of rain and highs
in the 60s.
