H.B. Strikers victorious in all-star play

The H.B. Strikers, a boys’ under-10 Division Gold all-star team out

of Region 56, defeated Region 5 of Fountain Valley, 3-1, in AYSO

weekend soccer action.

Brent Bazzell, Joey De Marco and Sloan Varing all posted goals for

the H.B. Strikers.

Defenders Blake Mooney and Taylor Bieldlman stifled Region 5’s

attack and Scotty Weaver, Madison Hayden and Kevin Johnson controlled

the midfield.

“All-Star soccer is very exciting,” H.B. Strikers coach Mike

Thomas said. “The competition is intense, so every game is very

difficult.

“Our boys played with a lot of heart and I am very proud to coach

such a dedicated and talented group of kids.”

The H.B. Strikers also consist of Dillon Brown, Brendon Hartjoy,

Michael McClemmonds-Nguyen and Connor Johnston.

The team is coached by Ron Varing.
