CdM under-11 boys soccer team shuts out all nine opponents en

route to its 9-0 record

Clark Cashion ran his shutout streak to a division record nine games

to lead the Corona del Mar Select under-11 boys soccer team to a 6-0

victory over Costa Mesa in AYSO Region 57 action Nov. 1.

Nick Curci paced the offense with two goals while Hector Marino

headed a ball into the net from a Mason Case corner kick. Brennan

Anderson’s crossing pass found Taylor Ross, who capitalized with a

goal from 20 yards out. Jensen Rhinehart and Will Morrow rounded out

the scoring, both on assists from Kjell Wolker.

Jack Gorab, Brent Gray and Wolker covered the entire field to help

CdM improve to 9-0.

In girls under-10 action:

* Queen Bees 7, Red Hot Chili Peppers 3:

The Queen Bees scored three goals in the first period and held off

a late Chili Pepper rally to claim the victory.

Paulina Leach scored two goals while Caroline Grant added another

for the Peppers.

Skylar Dapp assisted on Leach’s first goal. Leach’s second goal

came on a rebound after a shot by Jenna Johnson.

Chloe Dapp and Jenna Funsten led the offense while Rachel Cashion

and Lexie Shaw anchored the defense.

NHBA signups Tuesday

* BASEBALL: Newport Harbor Baseball Association will hold its

final signups for the 2004 season from 5 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in the

Ensign School cafeteria.

Players ages 5 to 14 are encouraged to register.

CMNLL signups online

* BASEBALL: Online registration is available for the first time

for the 2004 Costa Mesa National Little League season. Signups can be

made by accessing www.cmnll.org.

Early registration, which is $75 per player ($195 maximum per

family), continues until Nov. 28.

After that date, the fee increases to $85. The T-ball fee is $65.

The league serves boys and girls ages 5-12 who live in the area

roughly bounded by the Santa Ana River, MacArthur Boulevard, Fairview

Road, Harbor Boulevard, along with 15th and 16th Streets. Play begins

in March.
