Ripcurl launches with shutout

Ripcurl officially opened its 2003 season Saturday with a 4-0 shutout

of the Jalepenos in girls’ AYSO Region 55 Under-12 Division play.

Davon Shinn, Rachel Osman and Randa Addam all scored in the

triumph with assists going to Kaycee Rogers and Stephanie Schmidt.

Taylor DeGrote, Erika DeGrote and Yvonne Lake paced the Ripcurl

defense.

In other Region 55 action:

Pulverizers 1, HB Strikers 1 The Pulverizers and HB Strikers each came up with solid defensive

efforts and the two teams ended their fast-paced AYSO Region 55

girls’ Under-12 Division soccer match deadlocked.

The HB Strikers struck first, getting a second period goal on

Ashley Greer’s rebound kick into the net.

The Pulverizers drew even at 1-1 when Mel Locken scored off a feed

from Emily Peterson.

Sea Serpents 1, Knights 1

Justin Rogers scored for the Sea Serpents, who opened their season

with a tie against the Knights.

Micah Beaubian, Jeremy Chavira and Fisher Chavira all played

strong games for the Sea Serpents.
