HISTORY OF HITCHCOCK
Orange Coast College is offering a nine-part film history on
Alfred Hitchcock beginning Friday, Oct. 3. The series will be
moderated by retired OCC professor H. Arthur Taussig. Each session
will be held at 6:30 p.m. one Friday each month. The events will be

AWARDS RECITALS
Students 11 and older will perform at Orange Coast Unitarian
Universalist Church in an Emerging Artists Awards Recitals program
starting at 5 p.m. today. The young performers are the top winners in
an emerging artists competition held in July at the church. Tickets

The Family Classics Season for the Orange County Performing Arts
Center will feature a gala opening night on Oct. 8 with a concert by
the Pacific Symphony featuring the world’s great violin virtuosos,
Midori. She will play Mendelssohn’s Concerto for Violin and Orchestra
in E minor. Carl St. Clair will then lead the orchestra in a
performance of Mahler’s Symphony No. 1 in D minor. The concert will

OF BALLYHOO’
South Coast Repertory will present “The Last Night of Ballyhoo” at
Segerstrom Stage through Oct. 5. The performance is set in 1939 in
Atlanta, when the war on the minds of the locals is the Civil War, as
depicted in “Gone with the Wind.” But for Lala and her family,
nothing could be more important than her debut at Ballyhoo, a dance

‘JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR’
“Jesus Christ Superstar” is coming to Orange County Performing
Arts Center’s Segerstrom Hall through Sunday. It was the first
masterpiece from the legendary team of Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd
Webber. This landmark show, which premiered in 1971, chronicles the
last seven days in the life of Jesus of Nazareth as seen through the
eyes of his disciple, Judas Iscariot, who has become disillusioned

‘ANNA IN THE TROPICS’
South Coast Repertory will present “Anna in the Tropics” through
