* Alabama Street: A 13-year-old girl reported three lewd phone calls
in the last two days from the same person in the 1500 block at 8:07
a.m. Saturday.
* Beach Boulevard: A woman and two children who looked frightened
were reportedly panhandling at 7:20 p.m. Saturday.
* Beach Boulevard: A woman reported that she was assaulted during
the Fourth of July weekend and had recently received a threatening
note on her car that she thought might be the same person in the
18000 block at 12:05 a.m. Friday.
* Beach Boulevard and Adams Avenue: A woman reported that a man
driving a black Mercedes had cut her off and then threatened her at
12:06 p.m. Friday.
* Blanton Street: A woman reported that her credit card had been
stolen and that someone had taken out a $1,900 cash advance in the
16000 block at 10:01 a.m. Friday.
* Beach Boulevard: Several subjects were reportedly camping out
and urinating in public near the rear of the pet cemetery in the
19000 block at 3:10 p.m. Friday.
* Beach Boulevard and Stark Avenue: A motorist reported that four
men in a pickup truck were making obscene gestures while driving at
6:20 p.m. Friday.
* Cathay Circle: A resident reported that someone was passing out
pamphlets that encouraged terrorism and taught readers how to make
weapons in the 9700 block at 1:12 p.m. Saturday.
* Coldwater Drive and Adams Avenue: A resident reported that two
people, very loud and possibly drunk, were engaging in lewd behavior
in the park, and that the woman was singing at the top of her lungs
and couldn’t carry a tune at 1:19 a.m. Saturday.
* Corner Drive: A woman reported that a pornographic magazine was
on her walkway and she wanted an officer to look at it and determine
whether it was illegal in the 8800 block at 10:24 a.m. Friday.
* Cypress Avenue: A resident reported that his Rottweiler puppy
had gotten out of his yard and that his neighbor was demanding $40 to
return his pet in the 7800 block at 5:07 p.m. Friday.
* Dairyview Circle: A resident reported that several subjects were
using drugs behind the caller’s apartment in the 17000 block at 10:12
p.m. Saturday.
* Dolores Street: A resident reported that someone had painted a
swastika on the sidewalk near his house in the 16000 block at 8:02
p.m. Friday.
* Dorado Drive: A woman reported that her $1,831.28 mortgage
payment had been apparently intercepted in the mail and cashed in the
5000 block at 12:47 p.m. Friday.
* Edinger Avenue: A woman reported that a co-worker had touched
her on the rear end three times that day and on other occasions in
the 7900 block at 6:11 p.m. Saturday.
* Magnolia Street and Yorktown Avenue: A 30- to 40-year-old man
was reportedly chasing a woman in the intersection with a bat at 1:53
a.m. Friday.
* Murdy Park: A man who later admitted being under the influence
of methamphetamines reported that about eight or nine kids had just
assaulted him and taken his wallet at 3:11 p.m. Saturday.
* Nashville Avenue: A resident reported that a transient was
sleeping on a mattress between two trashcans in the rear alley in the
200 block at 6:20 a.m. Saturday.
* Pacific Coast Highway: A resident reported that men in a white
truck had torn down kites at a kite store and were waving knives
around near the pier at 1:04 a.m. Saturday.
* Ridgefield Circle: At 8:01 a.m. Saturday, a resident reported a
vehicle burglary that had occurred overnight in the 8100 block.
* Ridgefield Circle: A woman reported that her niece got mad at
her and poured battery acid in and on her car in the 8200 block at
2:55 p.m. Saturday.
* Skylab Drive: A woman reported a hit-and-run in a parking lot in
the 5800 block at 1:10 p.m. Saturday.
* Slater Avenue: A man reported that someone had withdrawn $1,000
from his bank account in the last week after depositing $1,100 a week
earlier in the 7800 block at 10:54 a.m. Saturday.
* Transistor Lane: A man at a rave party called 911 because he
thought someone was being murdered, but it turned out to be only a
dream in the 15000 block at 6:21 a.m. Friday.
* Trinidad Island Bridge: Juveniles were reportedly jumping off
the bridge at 12:54 p.m. Saturday.
* Utica Avenue: A man reported that his roommate had kicked his
door in, thrown an alarm clock at the wall and broken his cell phone
in the 500 block at 10:01 a.m. Saturday.
