Trial date set for rape suspect
The trial date has been set for an 18-year-old Garden Grove man
suspected of raping a 24-year-old woman who was washing her clothes
in her Huntington Beach apartment last month.
Police arrested Allen Plumb on Aug. 16 on suspicion of kidnapping,
raping and robbing a young woman in the laundry room of the Harbor
Lights apartments, in the 4000 block of Boardwalk Drive.
The woman was washing her clothes at around 10 a.m. on Aug. 4 when
a man with a semiautomatic pistol confronted her, led her into a
stairwell, ordered her to remove her clothes and raped her.
Evidence found during the search of Plumb’s Garden Grove home and
a residence near Pearce and Lynn streets in Huntington Beach linked
Plumb to the crime, Huntington Beach Police Lt. Janet Perez said.
Police say they are highly confident that Plumb is guilty of the
crime.
Plumb will be tried for sexual assault at 8:30 a.m., Sept. 24 in
Department 15 of the West Justice Center, at 8141 13th St.
