Three teams tie for title

Island Shade, Sandpiper and Team Viagra ended regular season play in
a three-way tie for the regular season championship in the City of
Laguna Beach Community Services Department’s Summer Tuesday /
Thursday 16” Slow Pitch Softball League.
Also qualifying for this week’s postseason tournament were Ganahl
Lumber, Rotary and Used Cars.
Island Shade needed three straight wins at the end of the season
to earn a portion of the title.
Island Shade 4, Rotary 0
Bruce Aguinaldo limited Rotary to six singles, two by Mark Maurer.
Aguinaldo and Mike Burns each hit a solo home run for Island
Shade.
Island Shade 11, Used Cars 8
Chuck Emanuele paced Island Shade with two home runs and four
RBIs.
Mike Burns powered a pair of home runs, Coby Naess doubled twice
and singled and Tom Taylor homered and singled.
In other action:
Team Viagra wins final five regular season games
Team Viagra closed out the regular season with a five-game win
streak, which included a 10-2 win over Good, Bad and Ugly and a 7-0
shutout of Used Cars, both on the final night of the regular season.
In the two victories, John Verdugo Sr. led Team Viagra in batting
with a double and four singles. Ryan Sauers homered twice for three
RBIs in the Good, Bad and Ugly win, Nate Pivaroff tripled and singled
and Gary Greene had a double and single.
Rotary 10, Forty Majority 4
David Zogg went four for four with two RBIs and four runs scored,
leadoff batter Art Johnson scored four runs and doubled and singled
twice and Tory Thomas singled three times to power Rotary.
Ganahl Lumber 12, Team Hobie 6 Ganahl Lumber qualified for the postseason playoffs by defeating
Team Hobie on the final night of the regular season.
Dave Wallace doubled twice and singled, Dave Miller homered and
singled, Steve Dixon doubled twice and Gary Rauch tripled and singled
to lead Ganahl Lumber.
