Marco Johnson blasted four home runs and added a double for good
measure as last-place Sammy’s Burgers upset previous Wednesday League
leader Mesa Verde Partners, 17-7, in the City of Laguna Beach
Community Service Department’s Summer Slow Pitch Softball action at
Riddle Field.
Johnson’s offensive prowess accounted for 11 of Sammy’s Burgers 17
runs.
Greg Kain doubled and singled for Sammy’s Burgers, now 2-6.
Jeff Greenough hit a pair of solo home runs to led Mesa Verde
Partners and Scott Henderson, Dave Miggison and Jerry Writer each
homered.
The loss dropped Mesa Verde Partners (6-2) into a first-place tie
with Sports World.

John P. McMurray delivered a three-run home run, two-RBI double
and single to power Sports World, which moved into a first-place tie
with Mesa Verde Partners at 6-2.
Mitch Kruger, Sports World’s leadoff batter, knocked in five runs
with a grand slam and single.
Nate Pivaroff doubled to lead Courtesy Auto Body (2-6) which
managed jus three hits, overall.
