Christine Pieton, a senior at Corona del Mar High School, helped

as a volunteer on an expedition at Archbold Biological Station in

Lake Placid, Fla. to study the endangered scrub habitat and its

native reptilian inhabitants ... Local volunteers took center stage

at the American Cancer Society’s annual volunteer celebration at the

Newport Beach Marriott luncheon to pay tribute to those who assisted

in raising $4.3 million for the Orange County Region last year. Those

Corona del Mar, Leigh Ann Rice, of Costa Mesa, Joanne Durocher, of

and Pat Smith, of Newport Beach ... Chad Czisny, son of Ed and Maxine

Czisny of Corona del Mar, recently achieved the rank of Eagle Scout

from the Boy Scouts of America. Chad is a graduate of Corona del Mar

High School. He will attend Cal Poly University in September majoring

in electrical engineering ... Dorothy Caruso, Phil Hirsch and Ann

Unger, of Newport Beach, were sworn-in by Commissioner Dennis Keough

as Court Appointed Special Advocate volunteers to mentor children

going through the child dependency system ... Ethan Goldstein, a

graduate of Corona del Mar High School and son of Dr. Mervin and

Carol Goldstein of Newport Coast, received his doctorate from Wayne

State University School of Medicine. Ethan is in a residency program

in OB/GYN at Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Mich. ... Robert M.

Campbell, president of Newport Beach based CT Realty Corp. and a

resident of Newport Beach, has been named the Ernst & Young “2003

Entrepreneur of the Year” for real estate services ... Coast Guard

Cadet, Lisa M. Bitzer, daughter of Rolf and Judith Bitzer of Costa

Mesa, recently enrolled as a cadet at the U.S. Coast Guard Academy in

New London, Conn. ... Andrew Paul Hurwitz, of Newport Beach, has

recently been recognized as a member of Sigma Alpha Lambda, National

Leadership and Honors Organization at Norther Arizona University in
