Forty Majority upends Sandpiper

Forty Majority tightened up the race in the Tuesday/Thursday League
standings in the City of Laguna Beach Community Service Department’s
Summer 16 Slow Pitch Softball action as it defeated league-leader
Sandpiper, 3-1.
Forty Majority used a home run by Bill Burk and an RBI double by
Mike Hilburn and a run-scoring single by Arlin Reid to earn the
victory, its second of the season.
Sandpiper managed six hits -- five singles and a solo home run by
Ryan Neptune.

Sandpiper 8, Ganahl Lumber 2
Sandpiper bounced back two days from its loss to Forty Majority to
down longtime rival Ganahl Lumber.
Chris Howell led the charge by throwing a five hitter and going
three for three on offense with a pair of home runs and a single that
led to four RBIs.
Mickey Allen hit a two-run home run and Art Johnson doubled and
singled for Sandpiper.
Robert Bonn singled twice among Ganahl Lumber’s five hits.
Used Cars 6, Good, Bad and Ugly 4
Used Cars climbed back into title contention by defeating Good,
Bad and Ugly.
Micah Stovall delivered a sixth inning grand slam to put Used Cars
ahead for good, 5-4.
Corey Doll accounted for Used Cars’ other runs with a two solo
home runs.
John Mallet brought in all four runs for Good, Bad and Ugly with a
first inning grand slam.
Good, Bad and Ugly 3, Rotary 2
Mark Brock’s big game included a two-run home run in the first
inning and a game-deciding RBI single in the bottom of the eighth to
lift Good, Bad and Ugly to its second league victory.
Randy Underwood singled earlier in the eighth inning and scored
the winning run on Brock’s single.
Fred Martin singled twice for Good, Bad and Ugly.
Mark Maurer hit a two-run home run in the fourth inning and also
singled and walked to lead Rotary.
