Newport City Council looks to fill vacancies
The City Council needs qualified candidates from Newport Beach to
fill eight vacancies on various city boards and commissions. There
are two seats open on both the Board of Library Trustee and Planning
Commission and there is one vacancy on the City Arts Commission,
Civil Service Board, Harbor Commission, Parks, as well as Beaches &
Recreation. The positions are for four-year terms and are available
when the term ends June 30.
The deadline for filing applications is 4 p.m. May 14. The City
Council will nominate two individuals for each vacancy at its meeting
on June 10, and appointments will be made at the next council
meeting, on June 24.
All appointments become effective July 1.
