FESTIVAL OF RIDVAN

The Bahai community of Newport Beach will be holding an evening

observance at 6:30 p.m. Friday to celebrate the annual Festival of

Ridvan. The festival will culminate in a celebration at the Mariner’s

Library Room, at 2005 Dover Drive. The Newport Beach Bahais will be

joined by the Bahais of Huntington Beach, Costa Mesa and Fountain

ANTI-SEMITISM TALK

The Social Action Committee at Temple Bat Yahm and in conjunction

with the Anti-Defamation League of Orange County will offer a program

on anti-Semitism, “Threats to the Jewish People Today,” at 7 p.m. May

THE BOOK OF RUTH

Dr. Avivah Zornberg will give a talk on the book of Ruth in

anticipation of the holiday of Shavuot at 7:15 p.m. Thursday at

Temple Bat Yahm. The talk is presented by the synagogue and the

Community Scholar Program. The cost is $10 for Temple Bat Yahm

members, $25 general admission, and free for Community Scholar

NATIONAL DAY OF PRAYER

The Newport Mesa Interfaith Council will have its sixth annual

National Day of Prayer and Interfaith Breakfast from 7 a.m. to 8:45

a.m. Thursday with keynote speaker Dr. George Saint-Laurent. He will

discuss “How America Prays.” The breakfast will be held at St.

Michael & All Angels Episcopal Church at 3233 Pacific View Drive.

RELATIONSHIP SEMINAR

St. Andrews Presbyterian Church is holding a relationship seminar

for divorced and separated people at 7:30 p.m. Thursday. St. Andrews

PARENTING GROUP

Jewish Family Service of Orange County is forming a parenting

group to help parents to understand and deal with the feelings and

behavior of their children. The group will meet from 10 to 11:30 a.m.

Members of the Bahai faith hold informal public discussions on

A SPIRITUAL JOURNEY

A 26-lesson study on the life of Jesus Christ titled “Journey to
