LAGUNA COLLEGE ANNUAL JURIED STUDENT ART EXHIBIT
Laguna College of Art & Design is presenting its annual Juried
Student Art Exhibition which offers the “Best of the Best.” The
exhibit will feature original artwork by the students offer work in
drawing and painting, illustration, graphic design, animation and
sculpture. The exhibit opened Thursday and the award ceremony and
reception will be from 7 to 9 p.m. on April 24, and runs through May

FESTIVAL OF ARTS CERAMICISTS SHOW AT WELLS FARGO
An exhibit focusing on the art of ceramics by Festival of Arts
exhibitors is being presented at the Wells Fargo on Ocean Avenue. The
exhibit offers the diverse work of Monica Dunham, Denise Ford, Walter
Reiss, Greg Riley, Jay Sampson, Fred Stodder and Scott Young. The
exhibit will run through May 5 and is part of an ongoing series of
shows that the Festival of Arts is having at Wells Fargo this year.
FAMILY SING ALONG
Every fourth Friday of the month from 6 to 9 p.m. No Square
Theatre will have a family sing along with the renowned Terry Alaric
on piano. Show tunes and standards are encouraged for live piano
accompaniment. Participants can bring their own sheet music or choose
from what is provided. No Square Theatre is at 221 Broadway.
A TASTE OF WINE
Wine tasting takes place every Friday from 5 to 9 p.m. at Len’s
Wine Cite. Different wines will be sampled each week. Len’s is at 303

Laguna Poets meet at 8 p.m. on the third floor of Wells Fargo Bank

‘WHITENESS, A WAYWARD CONSTRUCTION’ AT LAM
The new exhibit “Whiteness, A Wayward Construction” at the Laguna
Art Museum is a group exhibition of 28 individual artists and
collaborative teams working in various media, who explore
representations of whiteness. The underlying assumption of the
exhibit is that everyone in the United States is constructed in the
political imagination as a racial subject. The exhibit is curated by
Tyler Stallings. Laguna Art Museum is located at 307 Cliff Drive.

LAGUNA HOMEGROWN SURF ART EXHIBIT
An exhibit themed Laguna Homegrown Surf Art opened Saturday at the
Surf Gallery at 911 South Coast Highway. Dennis McTighe and artists
like Bill Ogden, John Chaney, Pat Tobin, Donita Lloyd, Ryan Gourley,
Frog, Sly Dog and Marcel will be on exhibit through April 19.

‘WHITENESS, A WAYWARD CONSTRUCTION’ ARTIST PANEL AT LAM
Laguna Art Museum is having an artist panel discussion in
conjunction with the “Whiteness, A Wayward Construction” exhibit at
11 a.m. Sunday. Curator Tyler Stallings and artists in the exhibit
will discuss their work and the broader cultural study of whiteness.
Participating artists include Myrella Moses of Newport Beach, Daniel
Joseph Martinez of Los Angeles and Lezley Saar of Los Angeles. Laguna

OUR TOWN IN THE EARLY 1900s
“Greetings from Laguna Beach: Our Town in the Early 1900s” just
opened at the Laguna Art Museum and will feature paintings,
photographs and memorabilia that chronicle life in Laguna Beach circa
1900 to 1930. The exhibit includes works by William Wendt, Joseph
Kleitsch, Clarence Hinkle, Edgar Payne and Anna Hills. In 1910,
Laguna’s population was around 300 and many of its residents were
writers, artists and musicians -- much like today. Featuring many of
Laguna Beach’s landmarks, past and present, it’s a vivid history of
