South Huntington places fourth

South Huntington Beach And One, a local girls’ All-Net Blue
Conference team, won three games and won fourth place at the National
Junior Basketball National Reebok Tournament.
South Huntington Beach defeated Yorba Linda, 49-45, and Niguel
Aliso, 57-50, before falling to Irvine, 54-44. Despite the loss, the
2-1 record qualified the team for the national finals.
In the next round of competition, South Huntington Beach defeated
the Fremont Future, 61-45. The team then lost a close one to eventual
tournament champion, the Brea Ladycats, 37-36, and fell a second time
to Irvine, 55-53.

comprised of Stacey Yin, Marilena Guadagnini, Audra Tamulaitis,
Jackie Anderson, Rylee Chapman, Sarah Marsh, Noelle Garcia, Allyson
Weimer, Veronica Beavor and Meryl Engler.
