Costa Mesa High senior Nate Hunter set the tone with a leadoff home
run and the Mustangs beat Bolsa Grande, 11-0, in a 13th-place
semifinal baseball game of the Pride of the Coast Tournament
Wednesday.
Pitcher Justin Peterson had the win, yielding just five hits to
improve to 4-1.
Sophomore Jeff Waldron was 2 for 3 with two doubles and three
RBIs, while Derek Garcia and Alex Pisarski also had two hits for the
winners (6-9).
Hunter’s homer was the first by a Mustang this season.
The Mustangs will conclude the tournament at a later date against
an opponent to be determined.
