Girl reports molestation
A 15-year-old girl reported Sunday that she’d been molested in her
bedroom by an unknown male assailant at around midnight March 27.
She said she woke up with someone on top of her, pinning her down
with his knees, holding what felt like a knife to her throat. She
said he threatened to kill her if she spoke.
It was too dark to describe the suspect at all, she said, but
guessed by his voice that he was about 17. She told a friend at
school the next day, but said she initially felt uncomfortable
telling police or her parents for fear that they wouldn’t believe
her.
Her parents said they heard nothing that evening and saw no sign
of a break-in at their two-story home on Oak Street. The victim’s
room is on the ground floor.
Police are investigating.
Girl saved from drowning is home
The 4-year-old girl who nearly drowned just off Crescent Bay Beach
April 2 was released from the hospital last week in “great”
condition, the hospital’s spokeswoman said.
Serena Eyerly, with her mother and sister, headed back to
Henderson, Nev., after a turbulent weeklong spring vacation in Laguna
Beach.
Denise Almazan, spokeswoman for Children’s Hospital of Orange
County at Mission, said she saw Serena in her mother’s arms as they
left, and Serena looked “pretty happy to be leaving.”
