Piaskowski slams three home runs

Orange Coast College freshman right fielder Jeff Piaskowski, who
wasn’t even scheduled to start but filled in at the last minute when
another player was scratched from the lineup because of an injury
during pregame warmups, ripped three home runs Saturday and finished
5 for 5 with six RBIs and four runs scored as OCC belted visiting
Irvine Valley, 19-2, in an Orange Empire Conference baseball game.
Piaskowski hit home runs on three consecutive pitches, then added
a flare to right field for a double and later a single as the Pirates
(13-14, 6-10 in the OEC) totaled 24 hits in their offensive attack.
Colin Stiltz was penciled in to start in right field, before his
injury.
OCC’s Ryan Mathes also enjoyed a big day at the plate, going 4 for
5 with four RBIs and four runs scored.
