A fertile debate

I believe that a picnic area with turf grass could be placed at the
very point of the Castaways. They should be restoring the central
park with native grass land and wildflowers. This is the intent of
the original plan for Castaways Park because it is a natural park. It
is a unique park where people can walk, run, bicycle and stroll and
watch nature. Most of the other parks have nothing but turf grass.
This park was originally designed to be a natural park and should
remain as such, however, turf grass can be put on the point where
people can lay down a blanket and enjoy the views.

I say it should be natural. That is what it is supposed to be and
that is what the money was given for and that is what we need to
remember. I just think the natural habitat with the wildflowers and
the grassland is what should be up there and not another false
looking place. Not a grass picnic area. I vote for natural.

There is already a nice grassy park with picnic tables at Bob
Henry Park and what we do and our family is have a picnic there and
walk over to Castaways Park to have a nice experience with a wild
park. That is the way we like to do it.

I am definitely against having the grass in the Castaways Park. It
should be done naturally the way it was supposed to be done.

I think the Castaways Park definitely should have grass. This also
could have been a desert if we stopped watering it. It is important
for us to have places to relax and play together. The green grass
would be a lovely addition.
