FESTIVAL OF ARTS CERAMICISTS SHOW AT WELLS FARGO

An exhibit focusing on the art of ceramics by Festival of Arts

exhibitors is being presented at the Wells Fargo on Ocean Avenue. The

exhibit offers the diverse work of Monica Dunham, Denise Ford, Walter

Reiss, Greg Riley, Jay Sampson, Fred Stodder and Scott Young. The

exhibit will run through May 5 and is part of an ongoing series of

shows that the Festival of Arts is having at Wells Fargo this year.

‘FOOTLOOSE’

Laguna Beach High performing arts department presents the Broadway

musical “Footloose” today and Saturday at 7:30 p.m. The production is

directed by Mark Dressler, choreographed by Tod. A. Kubo, Roxana Ward

is the musical director and Wade Hendricks is the instrumental

director. The performances are in the Artists’ Theatre lat 625 Park

FAMILY SING ALONG

Every fourth Friday of the month from 6 to 9 p.m. No Square

Theatre will have a family sing along with the renowned Terry Alaric

on piano. Show tunes and standards are encouraged for live piano

accompaniment. Participants can bring their own sheet music or choose

from what is provided. No Square Theatre is at 221 Broadway.

ICON GRACE SLICK AT FINGERHUT GALLERY

Rock ‘n’ roll icon Grace Slick’s art is on exhibit now through

April 12, her second exhibit at Fingerhut Gallery. Slick’s work

includes intense and colorful portraits of rock icons such as Jerry

Garcia, Janis Joplin, Jim Morrison, Jimi Hendrix, delicate sketches

and her ‘Alice in Wonderland’ series. The show will run through April

A TASTE OF WINE

Wine tasting takes place every Friday from 5 to 9 p.m. at Len’s

SAWDUST ART FESTIVAL’S 12th ANNUAL “ART WALK STUDIO TOUR”

Today and Saturday tour the private studios and homes of 40 of

some of Laguna’s most accomplished artists. Tours begin at the

Sawdust with continuous shuttles throughout both days. Tickets are

$55 for a weekend pass, $45 for a single day or $40 for seniors and

students and includes all studio tours, shuttle, morning

refreshments, afternoon receptions and entertainment. Information of

CALIFORNIA CHOREOGRAPHERS DANCE FESTIVAL

The California Choreographers Dance Festival will offer a free

concert at the Sawdust Festival at 935 Laguna Canyon Road. It’s a new

choreographic work by Eric Kupers, performed by Dandelion

LAGUNA HOMEGROWN SURF ART EXHIBIT

An exhibit themed Laguna Homegrown Surf Art opened Saturday at the

Surf Gallery at 911 South Coast Highway. Dennis McTighe and other

artists like Bill Ogden, John Chaney, Pat Tobin, Donita Lloyd, Ryan

Gourley, Frog, Sly Dog, Marcel and others will be on exhibit through

LATIN JAZZ AND DANCING

‘WHITENESS, A WAYWARD CONSTRUCTION’ AT LAM

The new exhibit “Whiteness, A Wayward Construction” at the Laguna

Art Museum is a group exhibition of 28 individual artists and

collaborative teams working in various media, who explore

representations of whiteness. The underlying assumption of the

exhibit is that everyone in the United States is constructed in the

political imagination as a racial subject. The exhibit is curated by

Tyler Stallings. Laguna Art Museum is located at 307 Cliff Drive.
