Diamondbacks down Dodgers, 4-2

The Dodgers withstood a fifth inning surge by the Diamondbacks, then
shut down their Majors Division rival in the sixth to secure a 4-2
victory in Ocean View Little League weekend play.
Dalton Hintz and Matt Fetters shared the mound and their pitching
efforts, backed by a solid team defense, held the Dodgers to five
hits and two runs.
Hintz and Breck Wainright each had key hits to drive in runs for
the Diamondbacks.
In other Majors action:
Huntington Valley Little League
White Sox 3, Dodgers 2
The White Sox scored all three of their runs in the first inning,
then made them stand as they notched their first victory of the
season.
A single by Bradley Hansen, double by Jordan Singh and walk by
Chris Gillen produced the runs.
The relief pitching of Jimmy Miller carried the White Sox through
the final four innings during which he struck out six.
In the Dodgers’ first inning, Mike Wilson singled and Houston Hill
and Stuart Chenier both reached base, leading to their two runs.
Hill had a terrific relief stint for the Dodgers with 10
strikeouts.
Connor Baggett, Nick Gialenes and Brad Schultz each singled for
the Dodgers.
Pirates 4, A’s 1
The Pirates assumed sole possession of first place by downing the
error-plagued A’s.
Nick Mazzone’s three inning pitching stint resulted in a
seven-strikeout, one-hit performance.
He also scored the first Pirate run when he tripled and scored on
a wild pitch in the first inning.
The Pirates struck again in the fifth when Alex Talbert singled,
Tim Higgins doubled and Ryan Hakes singled in a run.
Huntington Hardesty also singled for the Pirates.
Although his team did not emerge victorious, the A’s Race
Parmenter pitched a terrific game, striking out 12.
Parmenter, Weston Stephens, Trevor Springman and James Miller all
singled for the A’s, with Stephens scoring in the fifth inning.
Diamondbacks 5, Angels 0
The Diamondbacks used three pitchers to shut down the Angels.
Tanner Phillips, Scott Martin and Barry Luke combined to strike
out seven and allow five hits.
Second inning singles by Mike Pellegrino and Trevor Carberry led
to each scoring on Dodger errors as the D-backs opened up a 2-0 lead.
In the fifth, Luke Holler singled, Ben Hunt doubled and Logan
Kells had an RBI.
The Angels got singles from Brock Butlett, Jake Machado, Jake
Augeri, Wade Carden and Eric Frempter.
Seaview Little League
Dodgers 9, Pirates 3
Brandon Visnoski and Josh Lesinski each had two hits and scored
twice and A.J. Vaccaro tripled to power the Dodgers.
Jordan Luevano, Lesinski and Chance Ross shared pitching duties
and recorded 14 strikeouts overall.
Jake Ayer, Trevor Robertson and Tyler Leamer each singled for the
Giants.
