Five Breakers earn All-CIF honors

Five Laguna Beach High athletes have been named All-CIF Southern

Section Division II in girls’ water polo for the 2002-03 season, the

section office announced Monday.

Heading the Laguna group is a pair of Breaker seniors, goalie Lina

Moore and Annie Preble, both of whom were named first team.

Preble established a county record this year for goals scored in a

season.

Sophomore Addison Doud was named second team.

Senior Kari Herdman and sophomore Katherine Gordon each were named

to the third team.

The division’s player of the year honor went to senior Christina

Hewko of champion Corona del Mar.

Aaron Chaney of Corona del Mar and Joey Pacelli of runner-up Villa

Park shared coach of the year honors.
