Centenarian celebration

Americans are not only living longer, they are living better, thanks
to healthcare advances and the evolution of supportive living
environments. The Fountains at Sea Bluffs hopes Americans understand
that a supportive environment can be a key factor in a long happy
life.
The Fountains is home to America’s oldest identical twins,
Margaret Taylor White and Martha Taylor. Margaret and Martha moved to
The Fountains at Sea Bluffs in 2001. On March 5, 2003 they celebrated
their 100th birthday, beating 1 in 700 million odds.
Margaret and Martha reside in separate apartments in the “Gardens
at Sea Bluffs” -- an area of the resort that caters to those with
memory challenges.
Margaret and Martha are extremely intelligent, physically active
and in good health. Margaret is the younger (by one hour), quieter
twin, while Martha is outgoing and will tell you exactly what’s on
her mind. Just as each twin has her own, individual personality, so
does each of their neighbors, and that’s exactly how caregivers at
The Fountains treat them -- as individuals. It’s in this type of
nurturing and stimulating environment that Margaret and Martha -- as
well as their neighbors -- thrive.
The National Assn. of Home Builders awarded The Gardens and The
Inn (assisted living facility) the “Best of Seniors Housing Design
Awards” in 2003. A final phase of luxury condominiums is now under
construction at The Fountains at Sea Bluffs.
The Fountains operates 20 retirement communities in 14 states. It
specializes in creating stimulating, supportive environments. For
