Youth track meet will run on Friday
The city of Huntington Beach will stage its 2003 Youth Track &
Field Meet Friday at the Huntington Beach High track.
The annual event will feature athletes born in or after 1988.
Running events include the 50, 100, 200, 400, 800 and 1,600 meter
races and a 400 meter relay.
Field events taking place include the long jump, high jump and
softball throw.
Registration is still open at a cost of $6 per athlete and will be
taken starting at 3:45 p.m. at the track on Friday.
The first event is set for a 4:45 p.m. start.

Huntington High golf event set for Monday
Huntington Beach High will host the fourth annual golf tournament
Monday.
The event, sponsored by Toyota of Huntington Beach and Quiksilver,
will be held at SeaCliff Country Club. Golfers can win a new Toyota
with a hole-in-one shot.
Registration will begin at 9 a.m. on Monday with shotgun set for
11 a.m. A cost of $195 per player includes golf, auction and an
awards dinner.
Non-golfers are welcome to attend the auction and dinner at a cost
of $50.

AYSO Region 55 to hold signups
AYSO Region 55 will hold the first of the upcoming signup sessions
on March 29 at Mesa View Middle School.
The signup is open to boys and girls ages 4 1/2 to 18 at a cost of
$85 per player and no additional fundraising is required by the
region.
Parents are asked to bring a child’s proof of age to the signup.
Future Region 55 registration will be taken on May 3 and June 7,
also at Mesa View.
The middle school is at 17601 Avilla Lane.
