Angels blank the A’s, 3-0

Cody Frame and Jordan Maddox combined pitching efforts to produce a
one-hitter and Frame also had a key hit as the Angels blanked the
A’s, 3-0, in a Majors Division game at Ocean View Little League.
The lone hit the duo yielded was a single to Ryan Christie.
Frame came up with a key triple in a first inning that saw the
Angels score all three of their runs.
A’s pitcher Andrew Bynum also threw a strong game and was backed
by a defense that saw Hayden Toney and Sean Guite combine to turn two
double plays.
In other Majors games:
Dodgers 4, Cardinals 3
Derek Hintz’s key RBI, the base-running of Joshua Ullrich and
Jacob Conroy and the pitching trio of Dalton Hintz, Matt Fetters and
Brandon Holland were enough to get the Dodgers past the Cardinals.
Cards’ pitchers Ryan Vandenburg and Mike Megill struck out nine
over the final three innings.
Twins 3, Yankees 2
Justin Rogers drove in the winning run as the Twins posted the
comeback victory.
Jonathan Combest had two RBI and Andy Ragsdale threw four solid
innings for the Twins.
Calvin Primich had two hits, Jesse Mestas came up with a key
defensive stop in left field and Michael Nakamura threw three
scoreless innings with seven strikeouts for the Yankees.
Diamondbacks 8, Giants 0
Beau Amaral hit his first two-run home run, left-fielder Chris
Berry had a big game defensively and Sean Carpentier, Cody Springer
and Amaral combined for a four-hit shutout for the D-backs.
In Seaview Little League action:
Majors Division
Dodgers 6, Cardinals 3
Zack Campbell singled and doubled, Wrede Cockerell doubled and
Brandon Visnoski scored twice and stole three bases as the Dodgers
went seven innings to defeat the Cardinals.
Ben Tinsley, Jordan Leuvano and Chance Ross also had key hits in
the comeback win.
Kurt Heyer threw three innings for the Dodgers and struck out six.
Visnoski finished the game and struck out eight.
Josh Amoral threw four, strong innings for the Cardinals.
In Robinwood Little League action:
Majors Division
Yankees 9, Dodgers 8
The Yankees fell behind the Dodgers by seven runs but came up with
a big rally to pull out a one-run victory.
The Yankees tied the score in the fourth inning, then pushed
across the winning run in the bottom of the sixth.
Daniel Vergilio, Brett Morinaka, Harley Shoffner, Matt Brown,
Shane Grace, Brandon Jehoich, Nick Morey, Jakob Brouwer, Tyler Brooks
and Cody Mercer all reached base or scored to ignite the Yankee
rally.
