Cypress downs OCC, 5-1

Orange Coast College starter Kyle Allen allowed just three earned

runs and nine hits in a complete-game effort, but host Cypress earned

a 5-1 Orange Empire Conference baseball win Tuesday.

Allen, who fanned four and walked two, was outdone by Cypress

sophomore right-hander Justin Keadle, who worked seven strong innings

to help limit the Pirates to five hits. Keadle had six strikeouts and

surrendered just three hits.

Collin Stiltz scored OCC’s only run on a double-play grounder in

the third inning.

Orange Coast fell to 9-9-1, 1-5 in conference, while Cypress

improved to 12-8-1, 3-3.
