OCC women fall, 52-49

FULLERTON -- Orange Coast College’s women’s basketball team jumped to

leads of 13-4 and 24-12, and was holding a 39-29 lead with 11:09

left, but it all fell apart Friday night at Fullerton College where

the host Hornets rallied for a 52-49 Orange Empire Conference

victory.

Nancy Hatsushi hit 7 of 10 from the field, 4 of 5 from three-point

range, for 18 points for OCC. The balance of the squad went 13 for

41.

Fullerton took its first lead on a Brenda Gallardo three-pointer.

Gallardo scored 12 points, all in the second half.

Lisa Duthoy hit two free throws with 0:17 left to give Fullerton

its three-point edge.

OCC falls to 25-7, 10-4 in the OEC. Fullerton is 21-10, 8-6.
