Anteaters put Waves away, 5-2
UC Irvine’s women’s tennis team was a 5-2 nonconference winner over
host Pepperdine Wednesday as the Anteaters took advantage of some
absent Waves to help the cause.
Pepperdine, without freshman Natalie Braverman, and two other
starters, did not have enough answers for Anteaters Jenny Bowman,
Tiffany Chang, Christie Poser and Hui Leo.
Bowman and Chang were winners in Nos. 1 and 2 singles and they
teamed up to win No. 1 doubles. Christie Posner and Hui Leow both won
by default in singles to clinch the victory.
UCI is now 4-4. Pepperdine, ranked 33rd in the nation, fell to
5-4.
