Newport Chamber will host business expo
It will be busy tonight on the beach as the Newport Beach Chamber
of Commerce hosts its annual “Business at the Beach” Business Expo at
the Newport Beach Marriott & Tennis Club.
The event, which will showcase nearly 70 local businesses, will
begin at 5 p.m. at the hotel, at 900 Newport Center Drive.
Admission is free, as is food. There also will be $10,000 in
give-a-ways, including one week in a Mexican Villa, annual passes to
Disneyland, a massage a month for a year and Los Angeles Clippers
tickets.

UCI expert to speak at Roger’s Gardens
Harold Koopowitz, respected UC Irvine professor, author and
speaker, will lecture at Roger’s Gardens in Corona del Mar at 9 a.m.
Sunday, March 2. The topic will be “Clivias and their Culture.”
Koopowitz has written two books, “Clivias” and “Orchids and Their
Conservation,” and is editor-in-chief for the “Orchid Digest.”

Take part in Costa Mesa’s banner year
Costa Mesa’s street banner program for the city’s 50-year
anniversary “CostaMazing” celebration has been expanded to include
families, individuals and other organizations. Street banners will be
hung on city streets during the celebration for a period of four to
12 months from June 2003 through June 2004. If you are interested in
